New edition of Testing Treatments

The second edition of ‘Testing treatments  – Better research for better healthcare’ has been published this week.

Written by Imogen Evans, Hazel Thornton, Iain Chalmers and Paul Glasziou this editions aims to inspire both patients and professionals and encourage everyone to get involved in improving research and future treatment.

As well as undergoing an extensive revision of the first edition this second edition outlines practical steps that patients and doctors can take together.

Ben Goldacre, author of Bad Science, calls this new edition ‘the best pop science book on evidence based medicine ever’.

You can download the full text as a PDF for free from the Testing Treatments website, which has been designed and built by Douglas Badenoch and the team at Minervation.  Translations of the new edition will be available from the beginning of 2012.
