Evidence Based Health Care Skills

Evidence-based healthcare has moved from a position of heresy to one of orthodoxy since it was first introduced in the mid-90s.  During this time there has been an increasing demand for literature searching and critical appraisal skills from professionals and patients.

We recognise that there will never be a one-size-fits-all solution to meeting the training needs of all people who produce or use health information, so we have developed a multifaceted approach through a range of consultancy support and flexible training events.

Organisations that produce health care knowledge or information for their users must always be striving to improve the quality of their work.  There are now literally hundreds of thousands of health care web sites to choose from, and in the long term it will be the usability of sites and the reliability of the information found on them that will determine whether a site fails or succeeds.

Training

We offer a flexible programme of training events to meet your needs, ranging from one-off talks to small group or ‘training the trainer’ events, which can be delivered as stand-alone sessions or integrated into your wider educational programme.

Over the years we have taught on a wide variety of courses and curricula both nationally and internationally.  Our approach always aims to first develop a clear understanding of the needs of the learner and then deliver a blended learning solution that meets these requirements.
