Web standards curriculum

At Minervation we always aim to make the websites we produce 100% standards compliant. Web sites which are not standards-compliant run the risk of failing to work properly and falling foul of anti-discrimination legislation.
Whilst any serious web agency will be aware of the ins and outs of producing standards compliant cross-browser compatible websites, the same is not true for many educational institutions. Their curricula are often years out of date and not in line with the latest best practice for producing web content.
We are therefore pleased to see that WaSP (Web Standards Project) and Opera are trying to tackle this problem. WaSP are busy developing their curriculum framework, which aims to identify the skills and competencies that aspiring web professionals may need. Opera on the other hand have recently published their web standards curriculum. It comprises of over 50 articles and is aimed at educators, students and web developers. We highly recommend you take a look if you are in any way involved in developing or writing content for the web.
