Achieving transparency in reporting health research: Thursday 26th June, 2008, Royal Society of Medicine, London.
All you avid Minervation watchers will know that the EQUATOR Network is an international collaboration which aims to improve the reliability of scientific publications by promoting transparent reporting of research.
The EQUATOR Website includes a resource centre containing all of the existing guidelines on how to write up different kinds of research, from randomised controlled trials to case reports. It also looks at more generic issues such as abstract writing and reporting literature searches. Finally, there are guidelines for specific disease areas or interventions, such as cancer, HIV or heart surgery.
We are delighted to see the Network announce this formal launch meeting. This is a tremendously important initiative, with the potential to significantly impact the quality and accessibility of the best research evidence in health care.
We hope to see you there.
