Jakob Nielsen's latest alertbox concludes that: "Giving money on charity websites is 7% harder than spending money on e-commerce sites. Donating physical items is even harder. For non-profit websites, social media is secondary; the top priority is to write clearer content."

A recent study of web page sizes and response times shows that the average size of a web page has more than tripled in the last 5 years, from 94KB to 312KB. Likewise the number of files included in a web page has doubled. However despite this, response times have decreased by around 15% from 2.8 seconds to 2.33 seconds.
