News > EBM news

The Dementia Annual Evidence Update (AEU) for 2009 has been launched on the 14th September by the Later Life Specialist Collection. The AEU contains the best available evidence published on dementia since January 2008.  It gives busy healthcare professionals easy access to the most the most reliable recent evidence from guidelines, systematic reviews and technology assessments.

We searched and sifted evidence from a number of databases, including Medline, Embase, PsycInfo, Cinahl and NHS Evidence, to find over 100 references relating to dementia.

The references have been grouped into 6 sections:
  • Definitions, Diagnosis and Screening
  • Risk Factors and Aetiology
  • Pharmacological Treatments
  • Non-Pharmacological Treatments
  • Rehabilitation, Practice and Care Standards
  • Evidence on other Dementias
