Information Scientist/Project Officer
Salary: £23,000 - £27,000 (plus pension/profit share)
Location: Oxford

We are looking for an Information Scientist / Project Officer to join our team.  You will use your information, communication and problem solving skills to work on a wide range of health and social care web projects.  This will include the three NHS Evidence specialist collections that we lead (www.library.nhs.uk/mentalhealth, www.library.nhs.uk/learningdisabilities and www.library.nhs.uk/laterlife) as well as a number of other high profile national health projects (e.g. www.prostate-link.org.uk).

You will be expected to work closely with the whole Minervation team and you will report to the Business  Manager. Your day-to-day work will be in a team of three, alongside our existing Information Scientist and the Business Manager. Other members of the team work remotely.

Essential Skills

• Degree or diploma in information science (or other relevant subject)
• The ability to research and present information in an insightful and structured manner both in writing and verbally
• Excellent web and IT skills
• Literature searching
• The ability to work well under pressure
• Excellent communication skills and a good eye for detail
• The ability to work well in a team
  

Desirable skills

• Experience of web project work, ideally in a heath/social care setting
• Web site development experience
• Knowledge of evidence-based healthcare
• Critical appraisal skills
• Experience of working to a client brief especially in the commercial sector
